Purpose Sanding for Makers exists to help you achieve swirl-free finishes faster and cleaner. This Editorial Policy sets our standards for independence, accuracy, testing, and transparency.

Independence and Integrity

• We do not sell placements in reviews, rankings, or “best” guides.
• Brands do not preview, approve, or edit our conclusions.
• We disclose how we obtain products: purchased, loaned, or manufacturer-supplied. Source never guarantees coverage or outcomes.

Evidence and Verification

• Claims are supported by lab measurements and/or field validation. Where data are limited, we state the uncertainty.
• Safety guidance references recognized standards where applicable.

Review Process

1. Selection: We prioritize tools and abrasives that affect finish quality, dust, vibration, or speed, and those frequently requested by readers.
2. Testing: All products undergo our published methodology (see “How We Test”).
3. Analysis: Results are compared across normalized scenarios; rankings reflect task-weighted scoring.
4. Editing: A second editor reviews for clarity, accuracy, and replicability of steps.
5. Updates: We revisit content as tools or standards evolve.

Corrections and Updates If we make an error, we’ll correct the article and add a dated note describing the change. Substantive updates to rankings are timestamped and explained.

Conflicts of Interest Contributors must disclose any relevant relationships (employment, consulting, sponsorships). We do not allow contributors to cover products where a conflict could influence outcomes.

Affiliate Disclosure We use affiliate links for some products. If you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate partnerships do not influence our testing methods, scoring, or recommendations. Refusing a merchant’s affiliate program will not exclude a product from coverage.

Advertising and Sponsorships

• Display ads may appear on the site; ad partners do not influence editorial.
• Sponsored content (if any) is clearly labeled and kept separate from reviews and rankings.

User-Generated Content Comments and community submissions should be respectful, on-topic, and safe. We moderate for spam, harassment, and unsafe advice and may edit for clarity or remove content that violates these guidelines.

Use of AI and Tools We may use software to assist with grammar, formatting, and data visualization. All conclusions remain human-edited and based on our test data.
